Pink Chicken opens in Amaganset

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Our dear friend Stacey, who launched her amazing line Pink Chicken a few years ago just opened a fabulous store in Amaganset for the Summer. In a few short years she has quite a following and her line is sold at some great stores ( including ours ! )
Featured on the pages of Cookie,Allure, Parents and People Magazine her sensibility is casual and chic. With a nod to a bohemian lifestyle and an element of vintage charm it is perfect for summer days at the beach or park.

She and her husband have spent the last few summer weekends in Amaganset. This year, her dream was to spend the whole summer at the beach with her husband and girls. Now, she can do it! Working at the store during the day and handling all of the design and production from there she also gets to meet her Pink Chicken fans first hand.

If you are out at the beach, check it out. Stacey is fabulous, her line divine and she has collected some other treasures that you will adore. We wish her every success..

Madsen Bikes-The perfect Family Ride

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Thanks to the fabulous Joslyn at Simple Lovely, I was introduced to Madsen Cargo bikes over the holiday weekend. I have not been able to get them out of my mind since. Developed with the concept of doing more on your bike ( who doesn’t love that concept) These stylish wheels were designed to take the kids to soccer practice, make a weekly trip to the farmers market or to haul you and your stuff to the beach!

Thinking about ways we can partner with Madsen… stay tuned!!
In the meantime, if you love these bikes as much as I do, you can try and win one in their contest.

Recycle Bank-Genius way to participate in your community.

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Was reading an article about people that have started and developed successful not for profit companies, and was really inspired by Ron Gonen who founded recyclebank.com in New York City and now operates in 15 states ( primarily on the East Coast ). He has made the whole concept of recycling simple, rewarding to all who participate and allow you to step back and easily participate in doing good. With over 125,000 people participating, the potential of this program is incredible!

The program which rewards you to recycle through a variety of incentives, has helped in some cities to increase recycling from 3% to 33% which ultimately helps the greater environment and can save a city more then a million dollars a year.
Recycle Bank gets a portion of the city’s savings to operate the program, and the participants get paid to recycle. You basically earn points that can be redeemed at whole foods, Starbucks and local spa’s and businesses.
Just think, you can help the environment, help your own community save money on trash collection, reduce taxes for said work and make some money your self!

Mini Diaries-Capturing the Moments

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Have always loved these mini diaries from Marta Designs.
The simple concept of pausing for a moment and being thankful for the moments in life. So easy ( as I have for years! ) to get caught in the constant mode of doing, aquiring and moving without even realizing it.
Love the spirit of these diaries ( and everything Marta does…) Take a moment to pause, and reflect. Whether you jot it down or not, trust me, it is transformative.

P.S. these are a GREAT and simple gift and Marta’s blog and musings as a new mom are a wonderful regular read.

P.P.S Isn’t her handwriting to die for?
