Famille Summerbelle-New Treasures

Friday, June 19th, 2009

I was waiting for these little beauties from Familles Summerbelle and alas they have arrived. The Paris and London Maps are divine and would be perfect in any little girls room. With fond memories of travel to both of these places, and dreams of going their again with all of our children, I love the idea of these in our home.
Can’t wait to get mine!!

Harmonie Interieure

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Middle of the night feedings are making me a little tired, and I admit, my attention span is a bit shorter! Newborns and the end of year schedule with the older kids equals less time for posting. Hopefully, though short, these wil be helpful.

Today, back to the world of decor. LOVING these decals from Harmonie Interieures and would love to use in one of our daughters rooms when we move..
so many inexpensive ways to make kids rooms fabulous and give them a creative and beautiful enviornment.

I feel like every where I look…I see something about Famile Summerbelle! I can completely understand why, as everything they do it to die for. First up, the clever family tree….Next, the fabulous and simple wallpaper. and now…they are doing these fabulous maps ( that will be prints in the blink of an eye ) of London and Paris.

I can not wait to see them!!

Tepee’s

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

There is something so simple and fabulous about a tepee. We have on in our store in Scottsdale, and it becomes the perfect spot to hide, play with a friend or grab a book and get a way from it all!
I love the idea of having a giant tepee in a back yard ( or a treehouse! ) so the kids have a place to play and hang out. There is something magical that happens when they have a special space of their own. I remember, when my brother and I were young, building a fort in the woods near our back yard. It became the spot of many a secret plan, a snack or just a moment to feel like we were “in charge” over the months, friends would join us there. Since we spent hours outside playing, this was the perfect home base to go back to.

Why not bring this idea inside as well, in a child’s room or playroom. What can happen is pretty magical.

Sixx Design

You may have already heard about them, or may have seen their work, but did you know that Sixx Design is now going to have a show on Bravo?
This fab husband and wife team started out doing some projects in New York and are known for their love of family, sense of style and down to earth approach to life. Many a practical and stylish idea from their website and published work.
I LOVE their home in Great Barrington…the photo of the bicycles is fantastic.

Love their work, and excited to see the other projects that they are soon to be working on. This Bravo show should be great.
Can’t wait to see what wonderful homes they buy, renovate and flip. I shall keep my notepad handy for ideas.

( P.S. They are expecting number seven! )

Live What You Love

So many reasons to love this ( and put it in a kids room…)
A fab artist from Etsy ( who truly is a dear ) the beauty of letter press, the fact that you can add an element of art and thought for $12.50 to your kids room and the message itself. I have bought and given these many times for gifts, and we have one for little miss. s and for the twins as well.

A favorite Etsy Seller, found here..
Her website which is also so beautifully done found here

One piece of advice, each edition she produces in in colors that are so covetable..don’t buy too many, so you can see what she does next!

A divine girls room

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Was looking at one of my favorite magazines ( on line ) and came across this fabulous girls room. This is the kind of room I would love to create for little miss s or the twins when they get older. Love the color, simplicity and all the different gathering spots..Add in open bookshelves and a book rack, those great flags which I always adore and Voila.

It seems like the kind of furniture and room layout that could easily evolve as they get older. The book rack can turn into a book/ magazine rack, the bookshelves are timeless and can always be used…the small table and chairs perfect now for a tea party could be a great comfy chair…
