Recycle Bank-Genius way to participate in your community.

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Was reading an article about people that have started and developed successful not for profit companies, and was really inspired by Ron Gonen who founded recyclebank.com in New York City and now operates in 15 states ( primarily on the East Coast ). He has made the whole concept of recycling simple, rewarding to all who participate and allow you to step back and easily participate in doing good. With over 125,000 people participating, the potential of this program is incredible!

The program which rewards you to recycle through a variety of incentives, has helped in some cities to increase recycling from 3% to 33% which ultimately helps the greater environment and can save a city more then a million dollars a year.
Recycle Bank gets a portion of the city’s savings to operate the program, and the participants get paid to recycle. You basically earn points that can be redeemed at whole foods, Starbucks and local spa’s and businesses.
Just think, you can help the environment, help your own community save money on trash collection, reduce taxes for said work and make some money your self!
